Eckstein played a total of 10 seasons for the Anaheim Angels, St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays, Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres. He was among the league leaders in singles several times and posted a lifetime average of .280 with an on-base percentage of .345 and 35 home runs.
